The totten cottage
WINNER. Washington Building Congress Award.
This cottage had been sitting in abandon for decades until its new property owner unraveled it from overgrowth. After extensive research, they discovered it belonged to Architect George Totten, well known and unparalleled in Washington for his "Gilded Age" touch on many buildings he had designed in DC. He lived in this cottage for an extended period of time, adorning it with a fabulous Japan room and an incredible Fireplace Surround among the many other fine details he had been known for.
